เมียนมา : แหลมบุเรงนอง เกาะสอง
Myanmar : Bayinnaung Point, Kaw Thaung 

นาม เนม นาแม ..คำที่หมายถึงชื่อสำหรับใช้เรียกกันคำนี้ พ้องเสียงกันในหลายภาษา ทั้งไทย อังกฤษ เมียนมา และมลายู แต่ชื่อที่เรียกของสิ่งเดียวกัน กลับต่างกัน

แผ่นดินที่อยู่ใต้สุดของประเทศเมียนมามีชื่อเรียกต่างกัน คนไทยเรียกเกาะสอง เมียนมาเรียกเกาะตอง์ ซึ่งน่าจะมีที่มาเดียวกัน แต่สมัยที่อังกฤษปกครองพม่ากลับเรียกที่นี่ต่างไปว่าวิกตอเรียพอยต์ หมายถึงสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าวิคตอเรีย พระราชินีนาถของเครือจักรภพที่ยิ่งใหญ่สมัยนั้น ปัจจุบันผืนดินที่อยู่ใต้สุดของเมียนมาเป็นสิ่งก่อสร้างรูปสามเหลี่ยมเล็กๆ ยื่นออกไปในผืนน้ำ ด้วยภูมิทัศน์ที่เชื่อมโยงกับสวนสาธารณะบนเนินเขาที่อยู่ถัดเข้ามา แปลตามภาษาเมียนมาเรียกว่า แหลมบุเรงนอง หมายถึงพระเจ้าบุเรงนอง ผู้ชนะสิบทิศ

Name ..word by which a person or place is known or spoken to, this word itself is pronounced similarly in many languages included Thai, English, Myanmar and Malay. But we name the same thing or place differently.

The southernmost mainland of Myanmar is called Koh Song or Second Island in Thai and Kaw Thaung in Myanmar with the same origin. But during the British colonial period, this place was called Victoria Point to refer to Queen Victoria, Queen of the Commonwealth at that time. Nowadays, the real southernmost tip of land is a small triangular structure built into the sea, linked with the park landscape on the nearby hill, it is Bayinnaung Point or Bayinnaung Cape in Myanmar to refer to the great king.

แผ่นดินไหวขนาด 6.8 ตามมาตราริกเตอร์ จุดศูนย์กลางที่ตอนกลางของเมียนมา ห่างจากพุกามไปทางตะวันตกไม่ถึง 50 กิโลเมตรวันนี้ 2559-08-24 ทำให้วิหารหลายแห่งพังทลายลง หนึ่งในนั้น คือ วิหารซูฬามะณิหรือจุฬามณี  ที่สร้างในสมัยพระเจ้านะระปะติซีดูหรือนรปติสิทธุ ยุคพุกามตอนปลาย ซึ่งเน้นความสูงโปร่ง เปิดช่องประตูและหน้าต่างให้แสงสว่างจากภายนอกเข้าไปภายใน

ยอดเจดีย์ประธานได้พังทลายลงมา..อีกครั้งหนึ่ง เป็นการเข้าสู่วงจรของการเกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ และดับไป ครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า

Earthquake measuring 6.8 on Richter scale hits Central Myanmar, less than 50 km. from the ancient city of Bagan today 2016-08-24. Many temples collapse and are severely damaged. One of them is Sulamani Temple, built by King Narapatisithu in late Bagan Style of 'taller and more internal lighting'.

เห็นชาวต่างชาติมาเที่ยวมาอยู่เชียงใหม่มากขึ้น รู้สึกเป็นห่วงว่าวัฒนธรรมคนเมืองจะเจือจางไปกับกระแสโลก แต่พอได้มาเห็นอาคารโรงเรียนนักธรรมหลังนี้ ได้เห็นตุ๊กตากามเทพฝรั่งแบบลอยตัว กลมกลืนอยู่กับลวดลายเครือเถาพรรณบุปผา ประดับประตูหน้าต่างปิดทองอย่างลงตัว ผมถึงคิดขึ้นได้ว่า เชียงใหม่เป็นนานาชาติมาตั้งนานแล้ว

When I saw more and more foreigners visited and stayed in Chiangmai, I used to worry that Lanna culture may be diluted or contaminated. But when I saw these round-relief Cupids with the intertwined sprays and gold lacquer works decorated on doors and windows at this Dharma School building. I realised that Chiangmai has been a multi-cultural city since its past.

This wooden building was built by Mr. In, a Chinese merchant and Mrs. Jeeb, his wife, in 1919 A.D.

แสงอาทิตย์ยามบ่ายที่ส่องผ่านกระจกสีลายดอกพิกุลบนชั้นสองของพิพิธภัณฑ์ ช่วยให้ผมมองเห็นสิ่งต่างๆ และรายละเอียดของอาคารศิลาทึบตันแห่งนี้มากขึ้น กระจกสีที่มีกลิ่นอายตะวันออกซึ่งแทรกตัวอยู่ในสถาปัตยกรรมตะวันตก กับอาคารที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวการเผยแพร่คริตศาสนามายังดินแดนตะวันออกอันไกลโพ้นนี้ได้ดีที่สุด

Afternoon sunlight through the coloured ground glass on the second floor of the museum allowed me to see more things and details of this sturdy stone building. Oriental taste among the western architecture of the building that is the best in telling the story of Christianity in this Far East country.
