‘โมอาย’ ผมนึกถึงกองหินประวัติศาสตร์บนเกาะอีสเตอร์ ระหว่างหลบแดดอยู่ในเงาของหอนางอุสา

ใช่ กองหินที่อยู่กันคนละมุมโลกแทบไม่มีอะไรเกี่ยวข้องกันเลย แต่ทั้งคู่บ่งบอกถึงการดัดแปลงสิ่งของธรรมชาติเพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการของมนุษย์

แม้จะชื่อหอนางอุสา เรื่องราวของความรักที่ไม่สมหวังตามตำนานท้องถิ่น แต่ความจริงหินก้อนนี้คือศาสนสถานที่แสดงถึงความเชื่อ อารยธรรม และความเป็นชุมชนของผู้คนแถบนี้

‘Moai’ It reminded me of the historical rocks on Easter Island when I was sheltered in the shade of Hor Nang Usa.

Yes, both rocks are in different parts of the world and absolutely unrelated. But both imply a modification of natural objects to satisfy human needs.

Despite its name means ‘Lady Usa’s Room’ according to the folklore unrequited love story, in fact it was a religious shrine representing the faith and civilization.
