แค่ออกจากประตูหลังโรงแรมเคียงเซก โรงแรมเล็กๆ ที่เป็นห้องแถวทรงโบราณริมถนนชื่อเดียวกัน ผมก็มาเจอสวนเล็กๆ ยาวๆ ที่ซ่อนอยู่ด้านหลังตึกแถวที่ขนาบอยู่สองข้าง ที่นี่ผมใช้เป็นทั้งที่นั่งเล่นอ่านหนังสือเล่มโปรด แทนที่จะอุดอู้อยู่ในห้องพักเท่ารูหนูของโรงแรม เป็นที่เดินออกกำลัง เป็นที่ผ่อนพัก

From the backdoor of Keong Saik Hotel, a small hotel in an old building on the road with the same name, I came across a small park. It’s curved narrow shape was hidden behind the buildings framed on both sides. Here is the place I sat reading my favourite book, exercised and relaxed.

Afternoon sunlight through the coloured ground glass on the second floor of the museum allowed me to see more things and details of this sturdy stone building. Oriental taste among the western architecture of the building that is the best in telling the story of Christianity in this Far East country.

พระราชวังมัณฑะเลย์ที่เห็นในปัจจุบัน เพิ่งสร้างขึ้นใหม่บนสถานที่เดิม ด้วยรายละเอียดที่ถูกลดทอนลง รูป ภายนอกจึงไม่น่าสนใจเท่ากับ เงา

Mandalay Palace seen today, recently reconstructed on its original site. The details were reduced, so what we saw were not interesting as their shadows.
